From the earliest of times, in numerous cultures and folktales, Creator has used pine trees and pine cones to communicate Sacred Messages of enlightenment, security, wisdom, longevity, fertility, peace and love to humanity.
Pine trees are from prehistoric times on our planet, and have been here nearly three times longer than all flowering plant species.
One sacred practice involving pine trees comes out of Northern Europe. For hundreds of years, pine and fir trees were decorated at the end of every year to celebrate the birth of Frey, the Norse god of the sun and fertility. The tops of the trees were lit as the days were getting shorter. Northern people thought that the light would attract the sun.
This is the origin of the modern day Christmas tree.
The fruit of the Pine trees, pine cones, have as many sacred meanings and messages as the trees themselves. Pine cones are interwoven with you in more ways than you might know.
Pine cones lead to the evolution of the flower. Its spines spiral in a perfect Fibonacci sequence in either direction, much like the Sacred Geometry of a rose or a sunflower.
Our “Pine”al Gland, shaped like (and named after) the pine cone, is at the geometric center of our brain and is intimately linked to our body’s perception of light. The Pineal helps to regulate our wake-sleep patterns and circadian rhythms, is uniquely isolated in the very center or our brains, and receives a higher percentage of blood flow than any other area of the body save the kidneys. There is science showing that light is chemically generated in and around the pineal gland and that may be where some of our dream images originate.
The Pineal Gland is considered by many, Jesus Christ among them, to be our biological Third Eye, the “Seat of the Soul,” the “Epicenter of Enlightenment” — and the Pineal Glands sacred symbol throughout history, in cultures around the world, has been the pine cone.
Matthew 6:22 . . . And Jesus said, the light of the body is thine eye; if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Jesus is teaching that if you concentrate on your one inner eye (the pineal gland) your whole body will be full of Sacred Light.
You would think at the Vatican in Rome, the largest statue would be of Jesus, or an Apostle, or a Saint, or even of a Pope but that is not the case. The largest statue, stands at the entrance to the Vatican and is of a pine cone. Matthew 6:22 goes a long way toward explaining why.
Romans built an enormous bronze sculpture, the “Pigna,” in the shape of a huge pine cone three stories tall. According to a popular medieval legend, the sculpture stood on top of the Pantheon. The Pigna is confirmed to have served as a large fountain overflowing with water next to the Temple of Isis in Ancient Rome, however, the gigantic statue now sits directly in front of the Catholic Vatican in the “Court of the Pine cone.”
Catholic religious tradition is intricately interwoven with pine cones, perhaps most prominently atop the sacred staff carried by the Pope himself. The staff is a depiction of Jesus on the cross and at His feet is a pine cone and under the pine cone is where the pope places his hand while he is carrying this Sacred Staff.
The Coat of Arms of the Holy See (the Pope), found on the Vatican flag, features a stacking of three crowns suspiciously similar in shape to a pine cone. The very name, “Holy See,” appears to many to be a direct reference to the Third Eye.
The Egyptian Staff of Osiris, dating back to approximately 1224 BC, depicts two intertwining serpents rising up to meet at a pine cone. Modern scholars and philosophers have noted the staff’s symbolic parallels to the Indian “Kundalini,” a spiritual energy in the body depicted as coiled serpents rising up from the base of the spine to the Third Eye (Pineal Gland) in the moment of enlightenment. Awakened Kundalini represents the merging and alignment of the Chakras, and is said by many to be the one and only way to attain the “Divine Wisdom” bringing pure joy, pure knowledge and pure love.
Not just during the holidays, or the winter season, but all through the year, Source uses actual pine tree and pine cone, their symbols, pictures and aromas to let you know you are protected and safe. Perhaps you have been doing more meditation and working at strengthening your connection to your Third Eye -your pineal gland – and Creator wants to honor your inner work on your inner Light. Pine cones may seem to show Up everywhere around you – and it is June. Maybe your wisdom needs to be celebrated and sacred ancient pine keeps showing Up in life around you.
The Pine Trees and their fruit – the pine cones – have been on this planet long before humans. It seems only proper that we include them throughout cultures, histories and rituals in our sacred celebrations. The evergreen colors they Gift us with all year can embrace our hearts with wonder and spread the Joy of all holy times through all seasons.
Take a stroll through or around some Pine trees, hold a pine cone in your hand. See the messages, the energy, Light and Love that God breathes into you through them.

The Griffin Grief Groups are here to help you connect through Spirit with your loved one in Spirit. You will meet others who understand deep grief from their own experiences. Sharing the eternal Connection we all are capable of knowing, seeing and using in our daily life from our loved ones in Heaven allows each of us to realize how deep and everlasting their love is for us in God’s eternal Home and helps lessen grief.

GET RID OF GUNS. If anyone is needing help getting rid of a gun, please let me know. I am happy to help get it or you or both to the nearest police station. They will take any guns and destroy them. I have a number of police officer friends that can also assist us.
